Mariah Muehler is a New York–based soprano praised for her compelling storytelling, comedic spark, and vocal versatility. Most recently, Mariah performed with Theatre 4the People in their cabarets: Love Hangover and Who Tells Their Stories, where she channeled her inner POP Princess singing Charli XCX's "Apple" as Snow White. Other recent performances include On the Spot NYC, I'm the Bad Guy Cabaret at The Reverie Room, Shakespeare scenes with Actors Homeroom with guest artist Taylor Harlow, and various readings of new works including "Ignite" by Haley Rice and "Who's the Top" by Pandora Scooter.
In 2024-25, Mariah worked as a resident artist with Opera on Tap NYC, made her 54 Below debut as Mrs. Greene (The Prom), returned to VHRP Live! as Curly Locks in Babes in Toyland, and made her company debut with Amore Opera as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni),

In 2023, Mariah was a Finalist in the 4th annual Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s Career Grant Competition and a Semi-Finalist in Opera Mississippi’s John Alexander Vocal Competition. That same year, she made her company debut with Utopia Opera in their fall production of H.M.S. Pinafore after spending the summer performing throughout New York City with Meisner in Music. In 2022, Mariah made her Carnegie Hall debut, singing in a gala concert as Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Blanche DuBois (A Streetcar Named Desire). Shortly after, she returned to the screen with Bronx Opera in their green-screen production of Trial by Jury and rejoined the Sherrill Milnes VOICE Studio as a grant artist. With VOICExperience, she performed the role of Fiona in Brigadoon and appeared as a featured soloist in various outreach concerts.

During the 2020-21 season, Mariah performed virtually with Bronx Opera as Esmeralda (The Bartered Bride), as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with both the Sherrill Milnes VOICE Studio and Vincerò Academy, and as Juliette (Romèo et Juliette) in Shakespeare at the Opera with Eccentric Theater Company. In addition to these virtual performances, she was a featured soloist in the summer broadcast of the Savannah VOICE Festival and a participant in MassOpera’s virtual masterclass series with director, Chuck Hudson.

In 2018-2019, Mariah made her debut in the role of Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with New York Lyric Opera Theatre as a guest artist before reprising it with Luke Housner's LAH-SOW in Austin, TX. In 2019, Mariah performed in a public masterclass presented by SAS Performing Arts, where she worked with Tichina Vaughn and Isola Jones, who commented on her likeness to the great Mirella Freni.

From 2014-2016, Mariah attended the University of British Columbia and earned her Master’s in Music for Opera Performance under the tutelage of Heather Thomson-Price and direction of Nancy Hermiston. During her time at UBC, Mariah performed full roles with orchestra such as Annina (Eine Nacht in Venedig), Zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte), and Julia in the world premiere of Choir Practice by Canadian composer, Stephen Chatman. In addition to these performances, she covered and performed partial roles including MaÅ™enka (The Bartered Bride), Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), and Noémie (Cendrillon). In 2015, Mariah performed with Bard on the Beach in their Opera & Arias: Gilbert and Sullivan summer series, where she sang excerpts from The Gondoliers as Casilda and Gianetta.

Before moving to Vancouver in 2014, Mariah performed with San Diego Opera in their production of Verdi’s Requiem as part of their 2013-2014 season.

In 2013, Mariah earned her Bachelor’s in Music for Vocal Performance from San Diego State University under the tutelage of Laurinda Nikkel and direction of Kellie Evans O’Connor. During her studies, Mariah performed the roles of Gianetta (The Gondoliers), La Suora Infermiera (Suor Angelica), and First Spirit (The Magic Flute). Passionate about musical storytelling, while at SDSU, Mariah also expanded her studies by performing with the theatre department in their weekly musical theatre performance voice lab.
